Stock Market Technical Report Wednesday 24 August 2011
 

Today markets come in downtrend after rising for the last two days. All sectoral indices closed in the red with auto, metal and banking were the worst performers. The Nifty breached its psychologically important level of 4900 and SBI  also closed below Rs 2000. The European markets are trading in positive zone. The FTSE index is up by 8 points, DAX is up by 56 points and CAC index is also up by 15 points. The Sensex closed at 16285 which is down by 213 points. The Nifty settled at 4889 and down by 60 points. Today's Top Gainers Were Power Grid Corporation with +1.24%, Hindustan Unilever L with +.58%, Grasim Industries with +.45%, Ranbaxy Labs. with +.37%, Hindalco Industries with +.17%. Top Loosers were Tata Power Co. with -4.74%, Tata Steel with -4.31%, IDFC with -4.20%, Tata Motors Ltd. with -4.05%, Maruti Suzuki India with -4.03%.

Stock Market Technical Report Friday 29th July 2011

The markets witnessed selling pressure during the week and with both benchmark indices. Today Markets traded in range and closed flat with both benchmark indices. Realty and metal remained the biggest loosers of today's trading session. The European markets also traded weak today. The FTSE index is down by 37 points, DAX is down by 58 points and CAC index is down by 38 points. The CNX Midcap index is down by 0.3% and the BSE Smallcap index also lost 0.8%. The Sensex closed at 18197, which is down by 12 points from its previous close. Today's Top Gainers were Axis Bank Ltd. with +2.77%, Punjab Nationl Bank with +2.14%, ICICI Bank with +1.90%, Maruti Suzuki India with +1.75%, Bharti Airtel with +1.50%. Top Loosers were Sesa Goa with -5.38%, Jindal Steel & Power with -4.21%, Jaiprakash Associates with -4.17%, Kotak Mahindra Bank with -2.92%, Ambuja Cements Ltd. with -2.89%.

Stock Market Technical Report Thursday 28th July 2011
 

Today markets closed with significant loss as today was July Futures expiry. Metal, Reality were the biggest loosers and Oil and Gas IT and Banking also not performed well in today's trading session. FMCG was the only sector to close in positive. The CNX Midcap index was down 0.8% and the BSE Smallcap  index also lost 0.9% in today's trade. The Sensex closed at 18209, down by 223 points from its previous close. Today's Top Gainers were ITC Ltd. with +2.66%, ACC Ltd. with +2.65%, Grasim Industries with +1.86%, Ambuja Cements Ltd. with +1.80%, Ranbaxy Labs. with +1.77%. Top Loosers were Jaiprakash Associates with -3.87%, Reliance Infrastructure with -3.76%, IDFC with -3.55%, HDFC Bank with -2.94%, Reliance Industries with -2.73%.

Stock Market Technical Report Tuesday 26th July 2011

Due to RBI's credit policy markets lost about 2% and all indices closed in negative. Reality and capital goods also lost about 3% in today's trading session. Today RBI, central bank of India raised repo rate by 50 basis points to 8% and reverse repo to 7% in its policy meet to arrest rising inflation. The CNX Midcap index was down 1.1% and the BSE Smallcap index also lost 0.8%. The Sensex closed at 18518 which is down by 353 points from its previous close. Today's Top Gainers were Power Grid Corporation with +.46%, Tata Consultancy with +.42%, Reliance Power L with +.13%, Wipro Ltd with +.07%. Top Loosers were IDFC with -6.09%, Reliance Communication Ltd with -5.66%, Bharat Heavy Electricals with -4.76%, Kotak Mahindra Bank with -4.25%, Mahindra & Mahindra with -4.08%.

Stock Market Review Monday 25th July 2011

Today markets closed with significant gains, all sectors closed positive except FMCG and IT. Telecom, auto, metal and oil and gas performed very well in todays trading session. The CNX Midcap index was up 0.8% as the BSE Smallcap index also gained 0.5%. The Sensex closed at 18871, which is up by 149 points from its previous close. Today's Top Gainers were Reliance Communication Ltd with +15.12%, Bharti Airtel with +5.23%, Mahindra & Mahindra with +3.31%, Axis Bank Ltd. with +3.11%, Sun Pharma. with +2.62%. Top Loosers were Cipla with -1.40%, Sesa Goa with -1.23%, ITC Ltd. with -.96%, Power Grid Corporation with -.96%, Hindustan Unilever L with -.75%.

Stock Market Review Friday 22nd July 2011
The markets made drastic move and closed with moderate gains today. Nifty was also able to cross it's psychologically important level of 5600. All indices closed in green and banking became the the top performer among them. Auto, capital goods, IT and oil & gas also performed well in today's trading session. The CNX Midcap index was also up by 1.4% and BSE Smallcap index also gained 0.8%. The Sensex finally closed at 18721, which was up by 285 points from its previous close. Today's Top Gainers were Axis Bank Ltd. with +4.62%, Bharti Airtel with +4.06%, Reliance Communication Ltd with +3.48%, IDFC with +3.28%, Mahindra & Mahindra with +3.09%. Top Loosers were Jindal Steel & Power with -.24%, DLF Ltd. with -.17%, Hindalco Industries with -.08%, Hindustan Unilever L with -.01%.

Again markets traded with negative bais and all sectors closed nagative. European markets are also not trading well and as a result of this FTSE index is down by 44 points, DAX down by 61 points and CAC down by 31 points. The CNX Midcap index was down 0.7% as BSE Smallcap also lost 0.4%. The sensex settled and closed at 18436. The Indian stock markets are expected to continue it's range bound movement till the RBI policy comes. Today's Top Gainers were Hero Honda Motor with +1.61%, Cairn India Ltd. with +1.42%, Siemens Ltd. with +1.35%, Tata Motors Ltd. with +.84%, HCL Technologies with +.76%. Top Loosers were Reliance Communication Ltd with -4.24%, Kotak Mahindra Bank with -3.00%, Sesa Goa with -2.52%, IDFC with -2.28%, Axis Bank Ltd. with -1.83%.

Today markets remained volatile and didn't perform well, all sectors closed negative. Capital goods, pharma, banking and auto were the worst performers in today's session. The Sensex closed at 18502, which was down 151 points from its previous close. The CNX Midcap index was down 1.4% and the BSE Smallcap index lost 0.4%. The European markets are trading positive. The FTSE index is up by 48 points, DAX is up by 9 points and CAC index is up by 37 points. The markets performed very well today after consolidating from last few sessions managed to close above 5600 mark all sectors closed positive. Auto stocks were seen under some pressure. Both benchmark indices closed with significant gains. The European markets are also trading on a positive note as a result of it, The FTSE index is up by 27 points, DAX is up by 110 points and CAC index is up by 42 points. The Sensex closed at 18654, up 147 points from its previous close. Today's Top Gainers were Kotak Mahindra Bank with +2.51%, DLF Ltd. with +2.11%, Sterlite Industries with +2.02%, Cairn India Ltd. with +1.86%, Sun Pharma. with +1.80%. Top Loosers were Tata Motors Ltd. with -3.04%, Hero Honda Motor with -1.39%, Maruti Suzuki India with -1.00%, HDFC Bank with -.82%, HDFC Bank with -.82%, Hindustan Unilever L with -.68%.

The markets were dull today on both the fronts, volumes and volatility and pressure came from large cap stocks. Auto, healthcare and IT were the biggest losers today but midcap IT stocks seen some buying. The European markets are trading weak. The FTSE index is down by 55 points, DAX is down by 75 points and CAC index is down by 46 points. S&P CNX Nifty opened at 5582 and traded in narrow range for whole day. The Sensex closed at 18485 (provisional), which was down 77 points from its previous close. Today's Top Gainers Were Hindalco Industries with +3.28%, Tata Power Co. with +2.61%, Bharat Heavy Electricals with +2.51%, GAIL (India) Ltd. with +1.98%, IDFC with +1.62%. Top Loosers were Cipla with -2.18%, Mahindra & Mahindra with -1.99%, NTPC with -1.98%, Reliance Communication Ltd with -1.93%, Tata Consultancy with -1.83%.
