Today markets traded voletile and both benchmark indices recovered significantly after a gap down opening. IT, Metal and Healthcare were the biggest loosers and Auto & FMCG were the gainers of today's trade. The CNX Midcap index was down 1.1% and the BSE Smallcap index lost 2%. The Sensex closed at 16858 which is down by 132 points from its previous close. The Nifty settled at 5073 which is down by 46 points. Today's Top Gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra with +3.72%, Grasim Industries with +2.84%, Ambuja Cements Ltd. with +2.44%, ITC Ltd. with +2.44%, DLF Ltd. with +2.43%. Top Losers were Reliance Infrastructure with -6.56%, Reliance Power L with -6.48%, Reliance Communication Ltd with -4.72%, Tata Steel with -4.70%, Tata Motors Ltd. with -4.07%.
